Al Jazeera Children’s Channel inaugurates its regional office in Jordan



As part of its ongoing commitment to Arab children, Al Jazeera Children’s Channel, has recently inaugurated its regional office in Amman – Jordan, in a move designed to further extend its network and offer value-added services to its viewers.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by His Excellency Mr. Nasser Judeh, Jordanian's Government Spokesperson and by Mr. Mahmoud Bouneb, Executive General Manager of Al Jazeera Children’s Channel in the presence of official delegates and key members of the media.

The bureau will work closely with children’s educational institutions, NGOs, and governmental bodies to report the latest relevant news from the region to the channel’s young viewers across the globe.

Mr. Mahmoud Bouneb, Executive General Manager of Al Jazeera Children's Channel stated:" September 9, 2005 marked the birth of Al Jazeera Children's Channel, the first edutainment channel that provides Arab youth with a reliable unbiased source of knowledge, skills, and entertainment".

“We are delighted to announce the opening of our regional office in Jordan which will act as a point of reference and will offer a deeper insight into the traditions and customs practised by children not just in Amman but across the entire region”, added Mr. Bouneb.

Al Jazeera Children’s Channel’s bureau expansion strategy ultimately aims at offering consistent quality programming content which Arab Children around the world find relevant, educational as well as entertaining.
